Our beloved covenstead sits along side a beautifl river on a huge sandbar. The terrain is ever changing and there are a few things to keep in mind while visiting. Watch your step. The sand is very deep in areas and you can loose your footing easily. There are also lots of stones including quartz and coal located within the sand. Be careful when walking barefoot. Chairs and blankets are a good idea. We do habve some seating available but the area is so large that many find a cozy spot to hang out and a chair or blanket is perfect. Keep in mind that chairs will sink in the sand but are still good to use. Bring bug spray in the warmer months. A flashlight is handy! Water toys are welcome during the swimming season and we invite you to cool off in the water at any gathering. We have a trash can available for use so be sure to ask before leaving anything behind. Chilren are always welcome but please keep a close eye on them as we are not able to do that for you. There is wildlife in the surrounding woods and while the river is shallow at our area, there is a flow that can easily carry a smaller child away if not careful. We look forward to bigger gatherings in the fiture and hope that we will see you here!
